The Quincy Area Safety Council is pleased to offer the National Safety Council’s Online Defensive Driving Course.
The Defensive Driving Course (DDC) – Online is based on the same content used in the National Safety Council’s 8-hour, instructor-led Defensive Driving Course, but takes the average student half that time to complete. The goal of the course is to train drivers in collision prevention techniques while promoting an attitude of mutual understanding, courtesy and cooperation on the road.
With DDC – Online you can now receive this training at your convenience on your personal computer. The user-friendly program uses state-of-the-art 2-D and 3-D animation, full-motion video, narration and interactive screens to teach proven defensive driving techniques. The online defensive driving course offers an engaging, interactive learning environment where students analyze real driving situations, spot driving hazards, and identify the correct defenses.
Once your registration and payment has been received, an access code, website information and instructions on how to get started will be provided to you. If an email address has been provided, this information will be sent to you via email, otherwise this information will be sent to your mailing address.
DDC-Online is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week so it can be completed at your convenience. The “bookmark” feature allows you to exit out of the course and return to where you left off as often as you like.
Upon successful completion of the course, a National Safety Council DDC-PC Certificate of Completion will be available for you to print. You also have the option to obtain an Official National Safety Council Certificate of Completion in the mail that, in many states, can be used to lower automobile insurance rates. Check with your insurance carrier to see if you qualify.
